Season begins Monday Sept. 26 for Star Skate and Tuesday Oct. 4 for PreCan/CanSkate
2022/23 Registration is open. All forms and policies that need to be signed for complete registration are found in the MFSC Parent Handbook listed below.
If you are unsure what level your child should be registered in please email the club.
**There will be opportunities this season for Junior and Senior STARSkate participants to arrange for private, semi-private and small group lessons at an additional cost. Coach Janet will provide the skaters with the information for this and you can work with her on scheduling what works for your time and your budget.
Listed are the total registration fees for all skating groups for the full season. If joining late or doing a partial season, please speak with the registrar by contacting us at our email address.
Registration fees can be paid all in one go or in payments. 1-4 payments due on the 15th of each month
First family member is full price, second is $50 off, and all subsequent members are $25 off.
It is required that all skater parents submit a post dated cheque in the amount of $125.00. This cheque will be held in trust and not be cashed unless the parent has not fulfilled their mandatory volunteer commitments (See below)
If a cheque is not available, an e-transfer will be accepted and returned in March, if commitment is fulfilled.
All cheques the get returned as NSF will be charged an additional $40 which must be paid along with all other monies before the skater can enter the ice again.
This is due to insurance, if a skaters account is not in good standing, their Skate Canada insurance is not valid.
Off-ice plays a crucial role in the development of a skater's fitness, flexibility and strength and aids in the quick progression of a skater's abilities. As such, we are including an off-ice component to the STARSkate programs.
Off-ice has been scheduled prior to some on-ice sessions for RisingSTARS and Juniors. Please look at the Schedule for times. Seniors have off ice on Mondays after their on-ice session.
All registration forms and payments can be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
Annually, the Mackenzie Figure Skating Club requires a minimum of $40,000 to be raised on top of skating registration fees to cover the operating costs and to ensure our club is successful and can continue.
In order to achieve this, we rely on the volunteer efforts of our skaters and parents.
The MFSC has a volunteer hours system in place to ensure that all members contribute to volunteer efforts fairly.
Volunteer Hour Requirements are as follows:
All families will be required to submit a post-dated cheque, which will be returned un-cashed to you at the end of the season providing the appropriate level of volunteer commitment is fulfilled. Should your volunteer commitment not be fulfilled, the post-dated cheque will be cashed at the end of the season. If a cheque is not available, an e-transfer will be accepted and returned in March if commitment is fulfilled.
Families that have multiple siblings registered will only be required to provide one post-dated cheque for $125 and will be required to fulfill the volunteer hours for the highest skater level in the family.
How to fulfill your commitment:
There are many opportunities throughout the season to fill your hours. As a club we try to make it as easy as possible for you to fill all commitments.
Opportunities to fill volunteer hours: (Subject to change)
Product Fundraisers and Raffles:
Every $100 sold = 1 hour
PLEASE NOTE: SELLING OF THE ANNUAL CARIBOO NORTH CENTRAL REGION (CNCR) RAFFLE TICKETS IS A MANDATORY FUNDRAISER FOR THE REGION, AND NOT INCLUDED IN YOUR VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT.
