It is required that all skater parents submit a post dated cheque in the amount of $125.00. This cheque will be held in trust and not be cashed unless the parent has not fulfilled their mandatory volunteer commitments.
All cheques the get returned as NSF will be charged an additional $40 which must be paid along with all other monies before the skater can enter the ice again.
This is due to insurance, if a skaters account is not in good standing, their Skate Canada insurance is not valid.
Off-ice plays a crucial role in the development of a skater's fitness, flexibility and strength and aids in the quick progression of a skater's abilities. As such, we plan to include an Off-ice component to the STARSkate programs. We will provide further information on dates
and location once they are confirmed.
Skate Canada fees
Ice Rental fees
Some coach fees (There will be opportunities this season for Junior and Senior STARSkate participants to arrange for private, semi-private and small group lessons at an additional cost. Coach Janet will provide the skaters with the information for this and you can work with her on scheduling what works for your time and your budget.)
All registration forms and payments can be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
Annually, the Mackenzie Figure Skating Club requires a minimum of $40,000 to be raised on top of skating registration fees to cover the operating costs and to ensure our club is successful and can continue.
In order to achieve this, we rely on the volunteer efforts of our skaters and parents.
The MFSC has a block system in place to ensure that all members contribute to volunteer efforts fairly.
Volunteer Blocks are as follows:
All families will be required to submit a post-dated cheque, which will be returned un-cashed to you at the end of the season providing the appropriate level of volunteer commitment is fulfilled. Should your volunteer commitment not be fulfilled, the post-dated cheque will be cashed at the end of the season. If a cheque is not available, an e-transfer will be accepted and returned in March if commitment is fulfilled.
Families that have multiple siblings registered will only be required to provide one post-dated cheque for $125 and will be required to fulfill the volunteer blocks for the highest skater level in the family.
How to fulfill your commitment:
There are many opportunities throughout the season to fill your blocks. As a club we try to make it as easy as possible for you to fill all your blocks. You get full blocks for larger volunteering commitments, and 1/4 - 1/2 blocks for smaller commitments. These blocks are determined for each activity.
Please try to split your blocks 50/50:
Examples of commitment blocks:
Product Fundraisers and Raffles:
You will fulfill half a block for every $100 sold
PLEASE NOTE: SELLING OF THE ANNUAL CARIBOO NORTH CENTRAL REGION (CNCR) RAFFLE TICKETS IS A MANDATORY FUNDRAISER FOR THE REGION, AND NOT INCLUDED IN YOUR VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT.
